another world record

Chris made the news again last week. And he set another Guiness World Record.

He played flag football for 24 hours last Friday-Saturday. He was BEAT and looked like a BEET by the end of it! But it was for a great cause, and Mercy Project raised $31,000 to help end child slavery in Ghana!!! Their goal was $20,000, so that number is AMAZING!

You can check out his world record from last year.

Here's the football they all signed.
Over halfway point!Chris was on the blue team.

we're going to uganda!

I am very excited about our summer plans!

In June we are going to Uganda with Parental Care Ministries.
I get to love on some African kids. Is there anything better????

PCM obviously does more than just love on kids, but that is a big part of their ministry. They work with some schools and pastors to help with schools and education to grow new crops. There will probably be a lot a manual labor involved while we're there. (maybe more for Chris!)

Chris has been overseas many times for missions and I've been to Kenya for the summer, but this is the first time we will get to serve together. I am so looking forward to going along side him and seeing the Lord work.

As exciting as all of this is, the only way we'll get there is if we raise a bunch of money! We are trusting the Lord to provide. We have to raise $7500 for both of us to go.
We would love for you to get involved! But the most important thing we would love from you are your prayers. IF you feel led to give, shoot me an email at leishashepperd@gmail.com and I can give you more info about that.

I am also excited because we get to meet Abia, a girl that we sponsor!!
Isn't she beautiful?!
She wants to be a nurse when she grows up. :)
You can sponsor a child too. Check out PCM's website. There are lots of children waiting to be sponsored.

National Champions!

I'm sure you've heard by now that the Aggie Women's Basketball team won the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!! (If not, WHERE have you been hiding???)

After the game last Sunday night that sent them to the Championship game, Chris decided he was GOING to Indy.
So that's exactly what he did.
He and our friend, Hayden left at 11pm on Monday night and drove the entire 15 hours that it takes to get to Indianapolis, attended the game, cheered the team to a victory, immediately turned around and drove 15 hours back home. Craziness if you ask me. Just one of the reasons I love my husband!

I sooo wanted to be there, but I had to work...bummer. So, here are some pictures from their time in Indy.

Also, the local news station caught wind of Chris and Hayden's journey and got them on the news. Be sure to watch the video in the top right corner.

Here are a few from the welcome home celebration the day after the game.

Does that say NATIONAL CHAMPION??? Heck yes!
This is the Aggie's first time to ever make the final four, national championship and of course, hold the title of National Champions. So it's kind of a BIG DEAL!

People are selling NC apparel like crazy, ads all over the place, Chris even talked about getting a tat of the team! (Just kidding!) Just cool to be a part of history!
